There are very few moments our head guide Matt Tripet can’t be found wading an alpine stream, or river with a fly rod in hand. His passion for fly fishing and people is certainly evident when he is guiding on the water. Hailing from New England NSW, Matt first picked up a fly rod at age of 12 and from that moment the sport truly become an obsession.

Since then, Matt has introduced many people to the art of fly fishing, and coached them in all aspects of this sport. Matt is a recognised G-Loomis Pro Guide and member of the of International Federation Fly of Fishers. His professionalism and skills are inspired by 20 years of fly fishing waters in Australia and New Zealand and a degree in Education. His specialized approach to guiding has placed him along a strong network of highly acclaimed fishing personalities, Steve Starling, Peter Morse, Simon Zarifeh and Nick Taranski.

As a guide, Matt is in his element. There is nothing he enjoys more than sharing with others the intricacies of this fantastic sport and the beautiful alpine water ways found in the NSW Snowy Mountains region.
