Hanny is one of our Trail Running Ambassadors.
Hanny Allston is a World Orienteering Champion. In 2006 she became the first non-European to win a World Title and the first individual to win both a Junior World and Senior World Championship in the same year. Since 2006, she featured prominently on the elite athletics scene and was ranked amongst the top Australian runners in every distance from 3000m to the marathon. She has a personal best time of 9mins07sec for 3km and 2hrs40mins for the marathon. In 2007 she was the Australian Marathon Champion. Hanny has now raced in 35 countries around the world, living in 7 of these to prepare for competition.
However, Hanny's journey has not been a straight line. In 2005 at just 18 years of age she had a full ankle reconstruction following a terrible injury. She was told it was likely that she would never run again. At the same time a close family member had a traumatic accident and was hospitalised for many months. She has experienced the dark side of international competition and the impact that stress has on the body. It was from these highs and lows that Hanny found the strength to win on the international stage.
In 2009 Hanny established her coaching service, Find Your Feet. Trained in Medical Science, Primary Teaching, Life Coaching and Business, Hanny works as a running, health and life coach to assist her clients to achieve their ultimate ambitions. She openly shares her knowledge and experiences to move clients from where they are to where they want to be. Find Your Feet specialises in performance consulting, life coaching, running technique and trail running tours & camps.
Find Your Feet is the official coaching provider for The North Face 100 and Hanny has now included Trail Running to her impressive sport's CV. In 2013 she smashed the 20 year old 80km Overland Track record, winning in an amazing 8hrs14mins. She also represented Australia at the World Orienteering Championships after a 4 year hiatus. She is a The North Face sponsored athlete.
