Yes, there are outdoor barbeques centrally located on the Village Green.
On rare occasions, chains may be
required.
Lake Crackenback is below the snow line, and as a result does not get large snowfalls very often. However, the Resort does experience snowfalls to a smaller degree.
The Resort is outside the Kosciuszko National Park so it is not a
legal requirement to carry chains to get to the Resort.
However, if you are planning to travel within the
National Park then chains must be carried.
Thredbo is a 20 minute drive from the Resort along the Alpine Way. The
most convenient way to get to Perisher is a 5 minute drive to the
Skitube Alpine Railway (the Resort has a complimentary in-house shuttle
to the skitube in winter that runs on a timetable), the train ride will
then take you 15 minutes to arrive at Perisher and another 10 minutes to
get to Blue Cow. We are a 45 minute drive to Perisher
To walk to Kosciuszko, you need to first catch a chairlift from Thredbo
which will take approximately 25 minutes, the walk to Mt Kosciusko is
then approximately 4-5 hours return to the top of the chairlift. The
walk is moderate. The chair lift runs between 9.30am - 4.00pm in summer
and the cost is approximately $29.50 per adult. At Lake Crackenback

Caves, watch the latest movies at the local cinema along with some great
places for lunch and dinner at the end of your day of adventures.
There is an abundance of wildlife that roams freely on the Resort property. Look out for kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, possums, emus, birds, deer, rabbits and ducks.
