What are the Resort Terms and Conditions?

Terms & Conditions
Payment Policy
High season (June long weekend to October long weekend):
• 50% payment required within 14 days of making booking
• 100% payment required 60 days prior to arrival

Low season: (Outside winter period)
• 50% payment required within 14 days of making booking
• 100% payment required 30 days prior to arrival

Cancellation Policy
High season (June long weekend to October long weekend):
• Cancellations 61 or more days prior to arrival will receive a 100% refund
• Cancellations 60 to 31 days prior to arrival will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of total invoice value
• Cancellations less than 31 days prior to arrival will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of total invoice value

Low season: (Outside winter period)
• Cancellations 31 or more days prior to arrival will receive a 100% refund
• Cancellations 30 to 15 days prior to arrival will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of total invoice value
• Cancellations less than 15 days prior to arrival will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of total invoice value
N.B. Credit card surcharges will not be included in refund calculations.

Pre-Payment Options
Payments can be made via Credit Cards. Amex, Diners, Visa & MasterCard are all accepted, credit card transactions will incur a 2% credit card surcharge.
You can avoid this fee by making a direct deposit transfer in to our bank account or as a Bank Branch deposit, details for direct deposit and Branch deposit can be provided once a booking is made. Direct deposit and Branch deposit payments are not accepted within 14 days of your arrival date.
Cheques are also accepted for pre payment only and must be received at least 14 days prior to your arrival date.

Please ensure you quote your confirmation number on your deposit. This is the 5 digit number on your booking confirmation.
Once you have made your deposit, please email us with the details to enable us to provide you with a confirmation of payment.
For all last minute bookings, direct deposit payments are only accepted when payment is made at least 2 weeks prior to arrival. For any bookings made within the 2 weeks, payment is only accepted via credit card.

A 2% surcharge applies to all credit card payments.
Please note credit card surcharges will not be included in refund calculations.

Cheque Payments
We can accept payment via personal or bank cheques. Cheques must be received at least 2 weeks prior to arrival, to ensure they clear.  For any bookings made within the 2 weeks, payment is only accepted via credit card. We do not accept payment via cheque on arrival or departure.

Additional Information

A credit card pre authorization of $1.00 per night is required on arrival (maximum $500.00).

All accommodation is self-contained and are not serviced. If staying more than 7 nights a midstay clean will be included.
Your room is provided with the necessary amenities for your arrival. In the event you require additional items these are available for purchase in the reception shop. Should you require additional cleaning services during your stay please contact reception. Fees apply.

Please leave your accommodation in a neat and tidy condition with garbage placed in the appropriate receptacles and dishes placed in the dishwasher. An extra cleaning fee may apply to any accommodation left in an excessively untidy manner.

Pets on the Resort and in Accommodation
Please note that pets are not permitted in resort grounds or accommodation at any time due to our proximity to the National Park.

Please note that firewood for all fireplaces is only supplied between the beginning of June long weekend  to the October long weekend. Outside of this period firewood is available for purchase from the resort shop located in reception.

Accor Members
Please note that only lake view apartments and Cuisine restaurant are affiliated with Accor and only these can provide you your member’s entitlements.
The Spa and Wellness Centre, Alpine Larder, Activate and Ski Hire do not provide discounts or reward points when purchases are made.   

What is Check in and checkout time?

Are pets allowed at the Resort?

Being situated next door to the Kosciuszko National Park, we have an obligation to protect the native wildlife that frequent the Resort grounds. Because of this reason, we cannot allow pets at the Resort. If you have any questions relating to assitance animals, please contact the Resort directly on 02) 6451 3000. 

Can I do a guided Kosciuszko walk?

Yes, you can book a guided Kosciuszko walk, please follow the link for further details on the variety of walks and dates available

Can I hire bikes from the Resort?

Yes, you can hire Specialized adult and/or children's bikes from the Resort

Adult Bike Hire     Half Day    = $30 per bike

Child Bike Hire     Half Day    = $15 per bike

Can I hire dvds and/or boardgames?


Please see reception for a variety of complimentary boardgames.

Reception also has a range of DVD's available for hire.

Do I need a fishing license and is there fish in the lake?

Yes, a fishing license is $7 for 3 days.

Lake Crackenback is a man made lake that is stocked twice a year with trout.

You can book a guided fly fishing tour with prices starting from $65

Do I need to make a booking for the Spa?

Yes, bookings are essential to avoid disappointment.

Bookings can be made through the Spa direct or via Reception on 1800 020 524.

Do I need to purchase firewood during my stay?

Winter: No, firewood is provided from June Long Weekend – 31st October 2014. There is a 'how to' guide in your room etc.

Summer: Yes, firewood is available to purchase for $25.00 per bag via Crackers General Store from 1st November - 31st May 2015. Fire starters & matches provided and newspaper on request. 

Do you have outdoor barbeques?

Yes, there are outdoor barbeques centrally located on the Village Green.

Do you need chains to get to Lake Crackenback Resort?

On rare occasions, chains may be required.

Lake Crackenback is below the snow line, and as a result does not get large snowfalls very often.  However, the Resort does experience snowfalls to a smaller degree.

The Resort is outside the Kosciuszko National Park so it is not a legal requirement to carry chains to get to the Resort.

However, if you are planning to travel within the National Park then chains must be carried.

How far is Lake Crackenback Resort from the skifields?

Thredbo is a 20 minute drive from the Resort along the Alpine Way. The most convenient way to get to Perisher is a 5 minute drive to the Skitube Alpine Railway (the Resort has a complimentary in-house shuttle to the skitube in winter that runs on a timetable), the train ride will then take you 15 minutes to arrive at Perisher and another 10 minutes to get to Blue Cow. We are a 45 minute drive to Perisher

How long does it take to walk to Mt Kosciuszko?

To walk to Kosciuszko, you need to first catch a chairlift from Thredbo which will take approximately 25 minutes, the walk to Mt Kosciusko is then approximately 4-5 hours return to the top of the chairlift. The walk is moderate. The chair lift runs between 9.30am - 4.00pm in summer and the cost is approximately $27.00 per adult for a one ride or $33.00 per person for unlimited scenic chairlift access for 1 day. How many guests can I invite for a wedding in Cuisine?

Cuisine on Lake Crackenback Restaurant & Bar can seat up to 120 guests with a dance floor or

140 guests, without a dance floor.

How much are the Riversled tour and when do they run?

The River Sled Tours operate from November - April.

$75 per participant and bookings are essential.

How much are the Segways tours?

Segway Experience  - 15 Min = $15

Segway Eco Tour -      1 hour = $50

How much does it cost to get into the Kosciuszko National Park?

The current fee to enter the park is $16.00 in Summer for 24 hours or $27.00 in Winter for 24 hours. You can purchase tickets from the National Park gate located 5 minutes from the Resort.

Is my apartment / chalet serviced during my stay?

A daily service is not included to keep charges minimal.

However, for a low fee we can organise a daily service and refresh for your room.

Is the pool heated?

Yes, the indoor pool is heated to 28 degrees year round.

Is there Car Parking?

Yes, parking at Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa is free of charge. Every property has 1 allocated car space.

What is provided in the accommodation at Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa?

At the Resort we provide linen and towels, washing and dishwashing liquid, crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, saucepans, iron and ironing board, tea & coffee making facilities.

What is there to do in Summer in the Snowy Mountains?

Your options are endless... There's trout fishing, beautiful alpine walks, boating including water skiing, wake boarding, tubing, canoeing and kayaking, mountain bike riding, archery, tennis, golf, Segway tours, quad biking tours, horse riding, chair lift and bobsled rides, helicopter joy flights, abseiling, walking to Mt Kosciuszko, a fantastic day spa to relax and rejuvenate, lovely BBQ's by the lake, Yarrangobilly Caves, watch the latest movies at the local cinema along with some great places for lunch and dinner at the end of your day of adventures.

What types of animals might I see on the Resort property?

There is an abundance of wildlife that roams freely on the Resort property. Look out for kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, possums, emus, birds, deer, rabbits and ducks.
