Michael Scott Lees Biography

Michael has been shooting professionally for over 32 years from geographical to industrial, from architecture to advertising, but his real passion is landscape/wild places photography. Michael established his gallery in Jindabyne for 14 years and is renowned as the premier high country photographer in Australia. Countless adventures into the Kosciuszko National Park has given Michael intricate knowledge of the areas stunning locations. Michael uses no filters to capture his amazing photographs and believes that the art of great landscape photography is in nature, light and the ability of the artist to render that reality for the viewer. It is this dedication and craftsmanship that sets Michael apart from others in his field.

"I feel that Australia and the world, still enjoys unspoilt, remote and spectacular places and my photographs depict the beauty of these places. The images reflect the extreme seasons, weather conditions, the hardships brought about by fire, flood and drought plus capturing the essence of the pioneering spirit and struggle of life on the land. I really hope that my imagery will inspire others to preserve and protect these great environments for future generations to discover." Michael Scott Lees
