Overview: Ride the chairlift from Thredbo Village (1365 m ASL) to Eagles Nest (1945 m ASL), follow an elevated grated path that crosses the headwaters of the Snowy River and enjoy the vista of Lake Cootapatamba, Australia’s highest glacial lake. The journey continues past Rawson’s Pass (Australia’s Highest Public Toilet) with the summiting of Mt Kosciuszko, Australia’s highest peak, which affords sweeping views over the Main Range and beyond to Victorian alpine terrain.

START: Thredbo Village FINISH: Charlotte Pass
Overview:Begin your trek at Thredbo Village and take the chairlift to Eagles Nest 1945 m ASL. Walk along the Kosciuszko Walking track and pass Lake Cootapatamba to Rawson’s Pass before summiting Mt. Kosciusko at 2228 m ASL.
After summiting you will continue to traverse the Main Range Track along the ridge past the tranquil waters of Lake Albina. You will then continue past the dramatic Western Escarpment (Little Austria), Mt Sentinel, Caruthers Peak and onto the lookout over Blue Lake. The last part of the walk is a lovely long descent to the crossing of the Snowy River then a short but steep uphill climb to the car Park for Charlotte Pass. This walk is not a loop and finishes at Charlotte Pass, so you will need to organise a car / pickup at the other end.

Overview:Starting from Australia’s highest village Charlotte Pass you will cross the beautiful Snowy River and Club Lake Creek. Walk the in the shade of Mt. Kosciusko and Carruthers Peak to experience the splendour of Blue Lake, Kosciuszko National Park’s deepest glacial lake. Hewn out of granite by crashing rivers of ice, Blue Lake is 28 m deep and the cliffs behind in the summer and winter months make a striking border around this amazing alpine lake.

START: Dead Horse Gap FINISH: Dead Horse Gap
Overview: The Cascades Hut trail is a share trail and is fantastic for the mountain bike rider and the walker. Starting near Dead Horse Gap on the Alpine Way, you will cross the beautiful headwaters of the Thredbo River before passing Bobs Ridge that captures truly stunning views of the Victorian High Country. You will then cross Cascade Creek in the Pilot Wilderness Area and get your first glimpse of the highly renowned Cascade Hut for a well-earned rest or camp. Cascade Trail explores wooded forests, stunning vistas and one should expect to see a wild brumby or two.
